Taking It Downtown

My sister called the other day and said that she was on her way to Cincinnati because her husband was going to be there for a few days and she thought it would be nice to join him...AKA...peace and quiet with a good book or two. So this morning after I got my haircut (pic later) Michael and I headed down to get our tour guide, Bryce ,and then headed to pick up Robin.I don't know of a time when we are not hungry. So first things first...lunch at Paula's Cafe. Busy was not the word for this place. And of course Bryce knew who to see about a place to sit. Really good burgers and hot ham and cheese and Reuben sandwiches. But the carrot cake was to die for...and she gave it to us free. Thanks Bruce for lunch!

Total we have lived in Cininnati for close to 20 years. I have always wanted to go to the top of the Carew Tower. So today we did. Took elevator up to the 45 floor and had to walk the stairs for the rest because the next elevator was just a tad bit small for those of us with phobias. And this is what we saw. There was a smog alert today so we couldn't see as far as we could have on a clear day and Michael was a little antsy about breathing the air.
The round looking building under the 'e'.

The top is a replica of Princess Diana's tiara (according to Bryce).
Way up on the hillside in front of the big church.
The cranberry awnings...Jeff Ruby's Steakhouse.

Cool reflection. There were also window washers on the top of the building right were the reflection starts.

Bryce and Tini's new condo (in between the 's' and the 'n', one floor down behind the corner of the building in front) I couldn't get a shot.

After going back down all the stair and walking to the car, we took a little breather on the way to Findlay Market. I am glad we took Robin on a not so busy day...all the noise and people might have pushed her over the edge. We did end up getting some black and blue burgers, a few kitchen sink burgers and just a couple of portabella and cheese flank wrap burgers. Michael got two peperoni sticks. Robin found a chair and got a drink. She likes to people watch too. We found some good looking asparagus and great tasting dutch chocolate and sea salt caramel gelato.

So now everyone seems to be in a rush to get home to eat dinner...that's a first!

Where are the pictures of your tour guide, the kid that I'm sure complained the entire time, and Aunt Raree?

Believe it or not I didn't have my camera with me the entire time. I wish I could have gotten shots in Paula's Cafe of the food. Tour guide was in a hurry to get back to meet the floor people. Michael never got bored the first time...mark it down...
