Findlay Market

We dream about being farmer's like the ones we visit at all the Farmer's Markets in t he area. Since being back in OH we have had zero vegetable gardening luck. Last year we had enough to just go to the Farmer's Markets a few times. This year the garden has been a bust...except for the chives and horseradish. I was in CO when the peas needs picking. So I can safely say that from here on out we will grow our own flowers (which Mark is thrilled about) and leave the vegetable growing to those who know what they are doing.

We have found that if you go to Findlay Market late on Sunday evening you get the best deals. This Sunday we picked up the 'big play baby' and headed out with our canvas bags.

I love the atmosphere. Colorful buildings and lots of interesting people doing and selling all kinds of things. I want to build window boxes like these for next summer. Bryce and Michael first hit the butcher. Being the big brother that he is, Bryce got Michael two peperoni sticks, which Michael bought two more of right before we left. Michael is a little shy so if he wants something we make him order it. If you don't order you don't eat. So far it has worked pretty well. And it really helps if you have a patient, sweet girl behind the counter. If you know anything about our family it is that we like to eat. Today for fun we had a pickle eating /name the kind of pickle contest. Michel refused to participate...he HATES pickles. Emmy and Bryce wee right on the money. I got a few confused. Mark knew what they were before he handed them out so he didn't get to play.

I wish I had taken pictures of what we ended up with...three big canvas bags, a large paper bag and a box...
