A Whale Of A Big Day

We started the day out bright and early at about 6:15AM. Once Michael was on the bus and Mark was in bed (he worked all night long) Emmy and Alaire made plans for their date. It was decided that they would wear pink shoes. And they would go get their nails done. OH MY GOODNESS. Little Miss Pinkalicious could not find another thing pink to wear. She had her Pinkalicious dress with a pink purse filled with snacks and her 'wankie'. I bet she even had on pink Dora's under her dress. But the best part was....

that she finally warned her pink 'tap' shoes. Seems that we are in the midst of potty training. The deal was that if she kept her Dora's dry and or told her Mom she needed to go to the bathroom, she could wear her new shoes on her date with Emmy. She worked so hard and when Cassie told her to go get her shoes...I just wish you could have seen the biggest smile I have ever seen.

So the rest of the troops made a trip to the fabric store and then we had lunch at a really cool park that had a real live helicopter, a lake with ducks and geese, a play area and a walking track. Ellis decided we should have Taco Bell. Yea! Then I discovered that the poor child had never had the cinnamon crispy thing for Taco Bell...so we shared a bag. I think he likes them!

Allyson was holding down the back end of the twin stroller while eating her lunch. If you look close enough you can see some of the peas that didn't make it into her mouth. All she wanted to do was take off her shoes and socks. Crazy girl.

Little Ms M always rides in the front of the stroller...it is safer that way. She got to use the tray...great place for her to smash and smear all those peas until they looked like green playdough. She love to eat and she ate everything that was packed in her lunch bag. There were a few interruptions...she waved at every school bus that passed.

After we finished our lunches, we took a little stroll around the lake. The geese and ducks say us coming but I can bet they heard us before they saw us. Little M M was talking to them. Crack me us! She got so excited. Cassie thought it would be a great idea to get the girls out of the stroller and let them get up close and personal with the ducks and geese. Ha! I said. If she had let go of Little Ms M, I can almost guarantee she would have been in the lake., Allyson was more concerned about the two little boys and their Grandma next to us. Ellis wanted so bad to feed the ducks. So we check ed the lunch bags and threw all the scraps that we had. They loved that too...the girls and the ducks and geese.

Allyson is so tall in her car seat now that she stays awake most of the way home...looking at all the things we pass.

And then I see this in the rear view mirror. One tuckered out trooper.

Once Michael got off the school bus and we loaded Ms Pinkalicious in the stroller and we found all the boys in the neighborhood that we could...off we went on the bike route around the neighborhood. I wish I could have taken more pictures of the many varieties of bikes that were ridden. Luke and Ethan have been operating a Bike Shop with their dad's. As you might imagine...the bikes were one of a kind.

What's for dinner tonight...steak and salad. Cassie and Emmy planned dinner tonight. We had a Romaine lettuce salad with blue cheese, olives and some kind of wonderful dressing. Then it was tipped with strips of steak, grilled onions and portabella mushrooms. Can I just say that it was really, really good and I wish you all could have joined us! I don't think there are any leftovers at all.

Emmy and Ms Pinkalicious stopped by our favorite cupcake store, Sugar Cupcakery in Old Milford and picked up one of each of the cupcakes they bakes today. They were all so good. And we all wanted to taste each of them that we cut them into fourths... apple with goat cheese icing, banana willed with caramel topped with truffle icing, chocolate truffle, chocolate with white chocolate icing, Vanilla bean, chocolate stout and a citrus agave. They were all good but I am really going to be sorry when I get on the Wii tomorrow morning and I have gained about 5 pounds. But right now...it was well worth it.
