She's One

Let me just first say that I have a new respect for Julie...the drive from her house to ours that she has to make every morning before school is about 45 minutes along mostly a two lane road. Now I will really worry about them driving in the winter. WOW. We kept thinking we should leave some bread crumbs behind to be able to find our way home or that we would see some Amish...it is that far out. But what a beautiful house they have built! And land...lots of it...and one of my favorites...a goat farm right next door. And could this cake be any cuter!!! And the sandwiches that were served...I've already made a request to have them for my birthday. They are from Servatii's...one of my favorite bakeries on the planet...and they are on pretzel bread. So much goodness in one place. YUM We all, all 900 hundred of us, had our cameras ready to get that perfect shot of her taking that first handful of cake...you know the one that gets smeared all over the place...but not Allyson. She really didn't want to have anything to do with eating it at all. But I will tell you that it was delicious. Who needs gifts? Allyson found one of the cousin's purse. She pulled out everything...the cell phone, Ipod....She did get excited about her gifts. She was so funny. I am hoping that they won't have room to store them all and will share with us during the week. I need to get some big girl toys other than a baby and stroller and lawn mower. We had a great time and I am counting the days until she comes back.
