Driving Me Crazy

We went to Lowe's and purchased a small, inexpensive, hang on the outside of the window hummingbird feeder with our trusty Lowe's employee discount card....we need some entertainment for the wee ones or for the old lady that lives in the shoe so she can get up close and personal with the hummers with her little camera.I'm having a terrible time trying to figure out what settings to use to get non-fuzzy pictures. (anyone know what I need to do?) I seem to do fine when they are up in the trees preening themselves. So far I have figured out that there two sizes that come to our feeders...big ones and little ones. They haven't learned to share. And yesterday two were arguing about whose turn it was to drink when another one flew right into the window. I thought for sure that I was going to have to rush outside and do CPR, but it flew up into the tree and seemed to be okay.I didn't realize that they made any type of noise. I guess there are lots of things I don't know about hummers. But do not fear, today we are off to the library to do hummingbird research. Bet you can't guess who I am going with?I did learn that if you hang banana peels out they attreach fruit flies (and other unwanted creatures of the night) and that hummingbirds like fruit flies. I am sure that I will have more trivia that you won't want to miss out on in the near future.

Jan, they do make a little noise, like, tweet, tweet, not a birdsong. They are very territorial, and hate to share. If hummingbirds were a big as bears, we'd all be in serious trouble, they are so aggressive. Can't help with the camera thing, I do well to work my own!
