Happy New Year
I'm really not one to make New Year's Resolutions but this year I am setting several goals for myself. The major one that I am going to share is to get in shape to participate in the 100th Thanksgiving Day Race that is held in downtown Cincinnati. It is a 10K race. We have worked the race before but never run/walked in it. So this year I am going to be in constant 'training'. My plan is to walk the race as fast as I can. I feel sure that I can accomplish this goal because I walked a marathon at the age of 50 in honor of Sarah Beth in Race for the Cure in DC. How am I going to accomplish this feat? I plan to walk 30 minutes a day with the Wii. It will time me and tell me just how far I have walked in that 30 minutes. This morning was Day One. I plan to keep a running total on the side bar. I am telling you all of this so you can keep me accountable. I will total everything up and post it weekly so we can see the progress. Who knows, I might just lose a little weight and get my BMI to where it should be. I have challenged the other members of my family to do the same...I will need walking buddy won't I? Wish me luck.
