Trick or Treat
Once again, Mr. Michael was a pirate for Halloween. He plans to wear this costume until "it grows out of him". I am not sure but I think this is the second...or maybe it is the third year for it already. Each year he seems to add something new. This year it is a booty pouch that Renee got him in Key Largo last spring. It even had gold pieces in it...jingled when he ran. And run he did...from door to door until his bag was too heavy to carry. We got to go with Skyler and Lynley this year...Luke was with his Mom at a friends house...we missed all the energy he brings. But before he left, Luke helped me carve the last of our Jack-o-lanterns. Then we had to plant some seeds for our pumpkins for next year. He is just sure that they are going to grow. And he reminded me before he left that I should be sure to water them every day...except when it rains.
I wish I could say that I planned this shot to turn out like this. But I didn't. I love it! Michael loves to design the faces of our Jack-o-lanterns. He works on them for days...talks about them, draws them out on paper, talks about how scary he wants them to be....I guess it must be the teeth that make it scary. He even decides how you cut the top. Then as soon as you cut the top off...he's off. Today when Julie was picking up Allyson...she remember how much Michale likes the guts. When he was in her preschool class, she MADE him touch the insides. He didn't like it not one bit Tomorrow these will be buttered, salted and roasted....I can eat them all by myself.
Michael's scary Jack-o-lantern
Just a regular old Joe Jack-o-lantern.
So, our Trick-or-Treat night is coming to a close. Michael has chosen his 5 pieces of candy to eat. He has shared the candy he doesn't like with me. He is now singing in the shower....I wonder how long it will take hm to fall asleep tonight?
But before you go, you have to see Allyson in her Halloween outfits...
