EMPS #2...Water in Motion

Carly's assignment...'For this assignment, any type of moving water will be perfect. Let your imagination out to play. Photograph a waterfall, a fountain, the ocean moving in and out, raindrops landing in a bucket, a lawn sprinkler watering the yard, water being poured into a glass, even water running under a tap will do nicely. You get the idea, WATER IN MOTION.'I promise this water was in motion. I was out in the backyard, standing under a tree while it was raining trying to get a shot of the ripples in the birdbath. The creative notion was there but the photographer know-how was not. Please believe me when I say it really would have been a cool shot of the ripples.

I can not take total credit for this shot. Jay was here visiting and I ask him to show/teach me some new things about my camera. We went around the backyard and he showed me tip after tip. This is one of the best shots from that day. I love our fountain. It sounds so calming when I am sitting at the kitchen table....not to mention that it looks very interesting. The birds love it...today a goldfinch was sitting on a purple cone flower trying to catch the droplets of water as they bounced off the rocks.

Hi Wammy! I am glad you re-found my blog too! You are on my bloglines feed so I see you a lot. LOL. Just checking on you to make sure you didn't get a lot of damage in the storm. Our neighborhood got smashed.

My "fool the camera" shot! :-) It turned out fairly nice, actually.
