Chrissy Update

Louann sent me the following email two days ago..I thought that she explains things way better that I ever could so I will share what she wrote with you.

Got back from the Ronald McDonald House after
tucking Chrissy into bed. Dale has gone to bed but I
have trouble sleeping. WE get up ever morning around
5 and try to be at the hospital by 6. You do know
that we are in Cleveland?? at the Cleveland Clinic -
Chrissy has some great doctors - three main teams -
Interanl medicine and their job is to make sure
everything in her body is working well while she is on
all these drugs, Neurology whose job is to check on
the seizure activity and check everything in her head
(we love these guys and our Rhuematology group adn
they handle the Lupus. Tomorrow we begin Cytoxin for
her Lupus - it is really strong with lots of scary
side effects - we are praying for no side effects.
Chrissy has Statymic Lupus attaching her Lymph system,
blood system, Liver and brain. Not really the brain -
more the blood vessels in the brain are all inflamed.
The cytoxin is for those blood vessels and she is on
steriods and morphine - she likes the morphine tooo
tooo much. WE are praying to be home for Christmas
but we will do what the doctors tell us.We love you
guys ad we will shout the good news when we come home
...sorry i have not called - the day just
gets away from me and I spend most of it just staring
at Chrissy and pleading with God.
Love, Louann

And now for the lastest news...This is what Betsy wrote to all of us in her latest update...

Great news
I just talked with Louann and she shared that Chrissy has responded well to the new meds they began yesterday. She was able to "tour" some of the hospital via wheelchair. She was able to put on her glasses and read a few large print items. She still has a level 1-2 pain on right side of her head, which is worse in evening, but overall the doctor said she looks much better today then when he first saw her.
BETTER YET, they may release her tomorrow, did I say tomorrow? Yes I did!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
O Lord we do thank you for answered prayer and what a wonderful birthday present for Chrissy - to come home on her day. Yes!
Louann sounds tired as I'm sure her and Dale both are - but the Lord is great and all in His timing. Keep prayers a coming and thanks from the bottoms of all three of their hearts - they send their love and gratitude
Much love
Betsyco-

You are all in our prayers. I added Chrissy to our prayer chain at my school last week.
