Day Five...Parade Mania

On purpose we didn't tell the boys about the parade...we didn't want them (Michael) to be in any more of an overload. We got up early as usual. I think we had homemade biscuits with WV apple butter that I knew Cassie would love. I was right! After breakfast we started getting everyone ready to go to the parade. Michael was beside himself and was ready to attack! Ellis on the other hand didn't want to have a thing to do with his costume or anything that had to do with it. We all talked about it all the way to town and finally in the parking lot Trevor convinced him to put on his outfit. We got to the corner just as the first band was going by. All the kids were dressed in costumes. Then behind them was a sea of parents and kids 'marching' in the parade. After two more bands and more marchers the end came into site. Then the best part(for some) was trick-or-treating each of the businesses along the parade route. One key element...you had to say T-O-T and Michael was having none of that.He decided that he was too nervous to say anything. So there were lots of places he got passed over. Of course that didn't sit too well with me...give the sick kid a break, but then on the other had..get over it...it is no big deal. So Mark walked with him and just helped him stick out his bag in a group of kids. We came home with some candy and everyone was happy. We had lunch at Shorty's...a good bbq that Nana Kelly and Steve like. Michael like it because it had lots of western things in it. We even got candy there. We slow made our way back home to watch yet another Fraggle Rock DVD. After most of the household took a nap we got ready to go to church. Michael had no problem going to his class. It was Alaire's first trip to church, so you know what happened when we walked it. And yes, my chest was pumped up...the proud Wammy! The music was great and the preaching even better. Just so happens the man who spoke has ties to Cincinnati. It was fun seeing the places in my mind as he was speaking about things that happened to him there and relating it to the crossroads of our lives.Ellis is such the big brother. He always helps out in what every way he thinks he needs to. He insisted on holding the carrier all the way to the fountain that Michael found. Once he saw that...it was bye-bye little sister.I should have known that something was up with Michael when we got home and he plopped down in the floor with a pillow and blanket. Ellis was right there glued to his side...some big time hero worshiping still going on. Later that night Michael got up with an ear ache. The rest of the night just seems like a blur to me...up and down...
