What a DAY...

It all started out quite normal...waking up at 7:30AM, getting dressed, having a long leisurely breakfast, teeth brushing and then meeting our friends for our trek to the bus stop. Let me stop here and just say that there will be no pictures or video with this blog entry. You will understand why I could not have taken any pictures once you read the rest.....John and I walked the kids to the bus stop this morning. It was Luke's day to be line leader. Everyone was going great...but then there was Michael, two driveways behind. I should have known something was up then. We get to the bus stop and Michel does not get in line, the bus comes Michael does not get in line. He flat out tells me that he is NOT getting on the bus and he is NOT going to school. You can imagine how that went over. All the parents watching to see how I am going to handle this situation. If you know me at all, you know that Michael WAS getting on that bus and he WAS going to school. There was gnashing of teeth, gravel and dust flying but he did get on the bus with a little nudge from good old Mom. All the bus driver could do was smile at me. As the bus was driving away I asked John to look to see if he was okay. Little did we know that he would set off a chain reaction...Luke was in tears. John must have called Renee because she call the bus barn and talked to the bus driver. What a sweet lady our bus driver is....she is my new best friend. (Ihave a card and some chocolate for her tomorrow) I found out that once the bus got to school, Michael decided that he was NOT getting off the bus. Our sweet bus driver again comes to the rescue...she got him off the bus. I asked him who walked down the hall to his classroom with him and his answer was..."I don't know, Momma, I had my eyes closed". The to add salt to his wound...on the way home, as the bus rounded a corner and bit a bump, Michael face "ate the seat" as Luke explained it. For about three weeks, Michael has had a loose tooth that has just been waiting to fall out. So on bus 94 there is a tooth rolling around. Or maybe it is on the bottom of someone shoe. But Michael isn't worried..."because the tooth fairy will just fly to the bus and pick it up and then come to our house." All is quite now on the home front. Keep your fingers crossed for tomorrow morning.

So sorry you have had such a tough day! Hope tomorrow will be better and Michael will feel better about going to school. Hang in there!
