Just Swingin' on the Porch

Today and tomorrow are my last chances to clean up all the weeds and dry to the bone flowers and bushes in the yard because Tuesday school starts for me. Today I weeded and watered every single plant in the yard...that took forever. Then because Bryce says that I have forgotten the back of the backyard, I started by the barn and weeded, pulled, dug up, moved, pulled some more and finally ran the mower over the mess. Early tomorrow if the bugs will let me, I will finish up on the side yard. It will feel good to get it all accomplished. Then I think I just might sit back and look at it for awhile. Something like the fruits of my labor....Labor Day...get it...

After a delicious dinner of Wendy's, Michael and I sat on the porch in the swing...my most favorite place ever...and talked about tons of things. He was in a talkative mood so I jumped at the chance to get a video of him.

This one is for Ellis.

I wonder how many miles the boys have ridden this summer around the driveway....oh, probably... 20,000,000,000. Today Skyler and his little sister came down with bikes and helmets. So we took Linlee for a ride in the cul-de-sac. The boys are getting really good. They even have some tricks like the Blue Angels. Sarah takes it easy on the couch most days until I get a pile or two of weeds that need to be taken to the compost bin. She is not thrilled with this job but at least she doesn't have to weed it all with me...it could be worse! She has been planning her big 16th birthday party for next weekend. I think we are going to have a bunch of kids...a little less than what she thinks I am sure.

Now that the sun has gone down and Michael is in bed and Sarah is watching TV...again...I am on my way to the basement to quilt. o rest for the weary. Maybe tomorrow I will take pictures of the yard so you can see just what we have been doing. I know most of you are going to be thrilled by that post...but someone said that they wished they could see some pictures of the yard not just the pictures on the side. Let me just warn you that it isn't pretty. Remember we are in the middle of a drought.
