Flying Pig Marathon
Another early day packed with tons of fun! We drove bleary eyed to Hyde Park to cheer for Tini (and all those other brave soles) as she began the Flying Pig Marathon. Here she is right before the race shivering from the chilly weather....she was a member of a relay team from work. Her section of the race ended up being 7.3 miles. We left her there all alone and frantically raced to streets of Mariemont to cheer her as she passed a water station. We were lucky because in the one spot we could see her coming into the water station and then she looped around behind us so we were able to see her head out on to the rest of the course. Look closely in the left bottom corner of the picture...red shirt with yellow relay banner...that's Tini at Mile 16. She looked pretty darn good to me! Really focused on the front side..didn't see or hear any of us...and we were screaming...obnioxoulsy loud...she finally heard or saw Mark and then she smiled a quick smile and then it was back to business...2 hours 14 minutes 50 seconds into the race... ...Michael was probably sitting in his chair waiting for Tini to come or complaining that he was hungry...go figure. Sarah made sure that Ella didn't get tangled up with any of the runners. Although, she did look pretty in her little flying pig pink outfit....thank you Emmy...and she would have fit right in...Ella couln't decide if she wanted to sit and look pretty while looking for Tini or talk to all her new friends...four legged and two legged ones. The rest of the cheering section was hunkered down in the sun trying to keep warm. We had a great time and plan to do it again next year. I am thinking that I could walk the course...remember I did walk a marathon in one day when I was just a young 50 for all those of you who are laughing out loud!
