Spring Itch
Yesterday was Mark's day off...not a Day of Rest. We needed to start working on the yard...remember that we are on the 6 year plan for getting it all together. We picked up some seeds for the garden and 4 roses for the "bed of roses"....a cream colored John F. Kennedy rose, a peach Tropicana, a red Crystler Imperial, a Camelot double bloom hot pink. Oh...and two elephant ears. Those bulbs are huge...they look like small coconuts. We planted vegetable in the two raised beds. Just hope the deer don't like broccoli, lettuce, onions or peas.
Speaking of deer...my neighbor told me that when he left for work on Thursday morning at 5AM, there were two deer eating out of the two small bird feeders in the front yard.
KANSAS UPDATE: Michael overheard that Mark and I were in WV and he blew a gasket. Emmy had to put him on the phone. He was pitiful. Ready to come home from Kansas...he can't wait until tomorrow to come home, he wanted to come home right now! I promised that we would go when he got back. Also you should check Cassie's blog....

We started the day out bright and early...6:45AM. We dropped Sarah off at school and then we were on the road to WV. We have totally lost our minds. We left OH with an empty pick-up truck. This is what it looked like when we stopped for lunch at Cam's Ham. I had to get two shots so you could tell just how full it was. The blue trap blew off about 30 minutes down the road.
When we got home everything got laid out in the puddles in the yard. I wish I had a picture of that for you but my hands were too muddy to touch the camera. Mark and I spent the rest of daylight planting bushes. I will have to work on the rest tomorrow while Sarah is in school and Mark is back to work....Just to let you know...4 forsythia bushes, 8 azalea bushes, 7 rhododendron bushes, 1 unknown bush, a bunch of yarrow, 1 geranium ground cover, chocolate mint ground cover, 2 coral bells, 3 different kinds of rose bushes, 2 large zebra grasses, 6 huge iris clumps, 2 small holly trees, 65 iris rhizomes, 1 very large circle of orchid looking iris, 45 naked ladies and 1 unknown plant. We started planting as soon as we unloaded the truck.KANSAS UPDATE: Michael overheard that Mark and I were in WV and he blew a gasket. Emmy had to put him on the phone. He was pitiful.
