Crazy Winter Weather

The weather is crazy. We have had just about everything except hail...snow, warm weather, rain, freezing rain, snow, more freezing rain, temps in the single digits...this morning we woke up to the most beautiful scene...trees coated with ice that looked like diamonds. The birds and squirrels can walk on top of the snow. When you walk on it ..it crunches under your feet.
Speaking of squirrels...this is what they did all day long yesterday. At one point there were three sitting in the feeder. I must learn how to be a wild life photographer someday. It is hard work. And takes lots of quiet and patience. When Michael is around trying to see the birds, there is little of either. Those white circles are the beginnings of the freezing rain. The pairs of cardinals are the hardest to photograph. They seem really skittish. So I we upstairs and took this picture out our bedroom window. The bright red shows up great in contrast to the ice.
Mark was supposed to have the day off today but you know how that goes....It took him forever to get the ice off the windshield and to add to the trouble we lost a limb over the driveway last night. But we have a great neighbor. John must have been out moving his downed limbs this morning...he also moved the limbs to the land between the houses so Mark could get out of the driveway. There are small twigs all over the place. Somewhere near in the township, a nine year old little girl was walking her dog in her backyard when a hug limb fell and killed her.

So, how much do I have to bid at the auction???
