Christmas House
I got to spend an hour with Michael at preschool this morning making a Christmas House. Last week we were asked to bring specific things that the children could use in the construction of their houses. All they asked is that one parent show up to help in the construction. Oh, my goodness. Michael had already started opening his "snow" (icing) when I made it to the gym. We got to work at the table with his friend Gabe.
As you can see by his face, Michael was a boy determined, on a mission. After a few minutes of icing on his fingers..which was wiped on my pants, his shirt, his pants, all over the table and even some in his hair...he decided to make a snow family. As you can see by the picture, we have a one year old, a two year old and a ten year old snow family of children.
After many minutes of deliberation, Michael decided that Santa needed a chimney to climb down...a wreath on the front door...some bushes with snow...and a huge tree complete with lights. He also decided for every piece of candy that went on the house, three went in his mouth. (Mind you, we don't eat candy...well at least we don't let Michael have it.) We continued to work while people around us were leaving to take their masterpieces home. Not Michael, those creative juices were working over time.
And here is Michael standing in front of the preschool Christmas tree with his finished masterpiece. Right before I took the picture he asked me, "Mom, what do you want me to say?" Can you tell that this child has had his picture taken just a few times? Now the problem is, where to put the Christmas House? I finally had to put it on top of the fridge because small pieces were beginning to disappear. Go figure!
