They Sure Make Lots Of Noise
I was sleeping when all of a sudden there was such a ruckus outside, I had to get up and go see what all the commotion was all about. I couldn't believe my eyes!
The dogs had treed a coon on the squirrel feeder. And he was a big one...bigger (or should I say rounder) than Ollie!
He was so scared, shaking, and slobbering.
So what did I do? I dragged all the dogs in which made me late for church, and locked them in the house. Once they were in the coon took off over the fence into our neighbors yard. Then I called the trusty great hunter, Kory, and asked to borrow his trap. After everyone went to bed I loaded the trap with marshmallows because to a coon at night they look like eggs. I checked the trap from our bedroom window all night with a flashlight. We got nothing. So I added a few eggs and look what we caught...
A Claudia coon!
So the next night we put the trap out again. I checked all night long from the window. At 2:30 am but by 3:10am we had ourselves a coon.
He was scared to death by the time I got to him. One of the dogs had gotten into the flower bed and started to dig all around the trap.
He looks like he is in shock!
Mark backed the truck up Mr. Bill's driveway, and I carried him out. He headed to Kory's for a drop-off, and then Kory was going to help me take care of him.
I'm setting the trap again as soon as I get the trap back to see if thee are any more coons or things hanging around but I will be smarted and put the trap on the outside of the backyard fence.
