A Very Wet Wammyville Campout At Stonelick

The annual Wammyville Campout has come and gone.  Lots of laughs, good food, fun times, wet days, wet nights, and lots of memories made.
Disclaimer:  These pics are not by any means in order.  I just gathered the pics that everyone took and put them in a blog.

This was a new thing for us. We took Claudia with us. She is a great camp dog! The Yahoos loved walking her all over the place.

The boys are getting the firewood all stacked for all of our campfires.

At night, we could count the cicadas on the outside of the tent.  Gross!

This boy has always been drawn to a good puddle.

Our outdoor kitchen.  Good thing we had it.

Now, that's what I call a puddle!

Pappy is trying to take off the chill and stay dry.

Jeremy made sure every morning that there was hot coffee available for all the coffee drinkers.  The best part of waking up is Jeremy having coffee in my cup.

The Rockhold camper came in so handy as a place for the kids to play and stay dry.

They loved their special play area in the camper.

Everyone had a turn.

We all got a little soggy!

Lots of us got cold.

But this bunch didn't care about how cold it was or how wet they were.

Soaked to the bone.

Then we got a little break from the weather.  It is hard to tell what story Kory is telling, but Mandie's face tells it all.

Everyone was interested in the weather.

Plan C for the kids...a movie and some popcorn.

And then the sun came out!

Stonelick put on a fishing 'derby'.  Each Yahoo has a brand new fishing pole.

Everyone registered.

This looks like a pretty serious fishing discussion..

They were given casting lessons.

Levi is reeling in a big one.

Levi caught one.

Dad, I'm ready to catch a whopper!

I'm just standing here looking really cute with my new bobber.

We went back to camp to rig all the poles.

Looks like Brock doesn't know which way is up.

Open-face reel lessons from Jeremy.  He makes it look so easy.

A perfect size pole for this little fisherman.

Levi is getting instructions from the fish whisperer.

Avery says heck with fishing...I'm eating watermelon.

Aiden was not a very happy camper at this point.

Avery and Adi are killing cicadas.

Who knows...you never know.

His new name is Opie. I can hear Mark whistling the theme to the Andy Griffith Show.

Fishing from the dock.  Made me a little nervous.

Nora perched on her rock, and she was going to catch a big one.

By the look of the brown water, you could tell that it had rained quite a bit.

Avery is just enjoying nature, or is he doing something else?

Ava and Adi wetting a line.

It is such a small world.  One of Nora's friends from school was also camping this weekend.

Just a dad and a boy on the dock wishing for a nibble.

My new fishing buddy made me a little nervous on the dock, so we sat close to the bank.

Now we are getting serious.

What a great pic.

Kory just kept pulling in the catfish.  Nice size one too.

I see a million questions in that face.

Oliver found a huge crawdad with no pinchers.

This sweet little dragonfly would not leave Allie alone.

Now, that is a look!  What did I do to deserve that look?

Aiden caught a fish with he help of the mighty fisherman.

Well, at least I didn't get skunked.

Kory is rustling up some delicious walleye that he caught in Michigan.

Jeremy was trying to take it easy.  Not a chance.

Claudia is just Avery's size.

Battleship

I will never forget the makings of these Whomp 'ems as long as I live.

I have one large and four small Whomp 'em sticks.

They were a big hit with the kids, but I think the adult kids had more fun with them.

When camping, you can put a candy bar in the bottom of your whomp 'em if you want.

I think Jase was more excited about the topping.

Nora doesn't look like she is having much fun.  Her mother, on the other hand...

Avery got a two-for-one.

Poor Nora.

I think the consensus is two thumbs up.

Brock looks like he is having too much fun.

Adi is taking her cooking very seriously.

Looks like some really deep conversation around the campfire.

He loves it!

I was guarding the official Whomp 'em making station.  Is that the disapproving Wammy face?

Adien says, finally.  And he is going in for the good stuff.

If that look had words!

TROUBLE

She thinks they are the best.

Adi gives it a ten thumbs up.

Amanda is such a lady, eating hers on a plate with a fork.

Look at that cute face.  Does she like it or not? That is the question?

He's just a goober!

They have waited so long for their turn.

I'm taking that smile to sy...Finally, I sure hope after all of that, this is good.

This boy LOVES to camp!

At the beach.

Pappy and I took all the kids to the beach so the adult kids could finish packing up.

We should have fished with that!

And he gets another one.  And Avery wants to hold it.

They're all busy, and you can hear the conversations and the laughter.

Stop, Mr. Kory, just stop.

The king is holding court.

He is practicing for Hilton Head.

Nora is me when I was younger...give me a lake and I can be happy for days.

Jase is working that lure on his new rod.

Oliver has the rainy day camping look nailed down.

Everybody says cheese!

Now this one really makes me nervous!

concentration

Please, Lord, just let us catch one.

He's going after the big one!

What was I thinking?

I think he is looking for some help.

'sisters'

That one should go in a frame.

This one also.

Please. Oh, please, let him feel a bite.

Still my favorite picture.

Houston, I think we have a problem.

This guy is workin' it just fine.

Will you look at that fish!

The moms were prepared with lots of games to keep everyone busy and out of trouble.

I enjoy watching their interactions.  And how they help each other. I see how the Amish do it.   This makes this Wammy's heart so happy.

What a crew!

Singing around the campfire

A movie and popcorn in a warm and dry place.

Yep, they are hooked!

Friends helping friends play a game of Battleship.

Wet and wild.

The game table is getting a workout.

The morning coffee handoff between Jeremy and Pappy.

Friends forever!

The big camp dogs.

So well-behaved.

Friday night, when everyone gets there, we have pizza.

Let the trading begin.

The girls fixed themselves up with an art table.

sweetness overload

Reba, the newest member of Wammyville.

Claudia is keeping me warm.

She loves everyone.

Headed somewhere fun.

The friends who have become family...the Wammyville Family.

home sweet home

Gabe wanted a longer camping weekend, so he had his lunch in the camper.

That didn't take long!

It was a great weekend... can't wait to do it again.

Mark Aug 9 on your calendar...Backyard Wammyville Campout!  More info to come after I have rested up and can get all my ducks in a row.
