Before Heading Back

 Christmas Day didn't look the same as it had in years past.  A really laid-back morning.  The most excitement...the dogs barking.  but before getting in the car to head back to IN, Ellis and Alaire got to open their ornaments.  We always get them an ornament.  We had them delivered to Cassie's but she said she would wrap them and bring them here so we could see them open them.  So thoughtful.

Ellis opened a snowboard.  Now that he is spending time in CO, he spends most of his downtime at Winter Park.

Alaire opened lacross sticks.

Pappy got an Ohio State flag.

Alaire made these two pieces.  A bowl for Pappy and a flower vase for me.  I love the earthy tones she used.  She threw them on a potter's wheel.

I was blown away when I opened this.  It is a pen and ink drawing of an old barn that we saw in WV last summer when we went to the New River Gorge.  I love it.  It truly is amazing.  It took me about five minutes to find a place and hang it.

One more Christmas get-together to go which will actually be on New Year's Eve when Bryce and his family are back in town and Sarah is feeling better.
