First Days For Kin and Wammyville Peeps

Well, folks it is here.  No more sleeps!  The new school year has begun.  I asked for first-day pics but I received lots of texts from Wammyville on the first day.  They know me very well.  I love a good first-day pic.  Especially these.

Alaire is in IN and starting her junior year being homeschooled.  She has the honor of being granddaughter number one. It will be different for her.  Ellis is going to CO for a GAP year.  (He is the one who gave me the most wonderful name, Wammy.) The good thing is that she gets their car (MORTY) anytime she needs it.

Grandson #2 Sam is off to fourth grade. Sam is a very thought-filled fourth grader.  Always analyzing every situation and asking a million questions.  Which means he is learning a wide variety of things.

This little cutie will hit first-grade running.  She is granddaughter #2. Mia is so excited to be going to Sam's school.  One of the great things about her school is that Auntie Em can come to visit/check-in anytime.  She adores her big brother!

I don't get to love on these two little cuties very often because they live up the Ohio River from us.  They are my sister's grandkids so that makes me their Great Aunt. The little mister, Abram, is heading to PreK, and his big sister, Lyla, is going to kill it in Kindergarten.

These are Emmy's 'kids'.  She has been their Nanny since before the one in the middle one was born. Ernie will be knocking down the door frames as a junior this year.  He is taller than Ellis and that's tall!
Fiona is right behind as a sophomore.  And Saffi is Ernie's twin sister so you can guess her grade. They are certainly family!  Ellis and Alaire can't get enough of them when they are in town.

And we must add this handsome boy-man into the mix.  His name is PJ and he will be right in the middle of things in the hall with the other juniors.  That is so hard for me to comprehend.  I remember taking all of them to Turtle Talk at Holden Beach many summers ago. He is the best bud of this crew plus Emmy.  And considered a brother to this crew.  They have been dubbed the Varanderoakes.  When you see one you are bound to see them all.  A super bunch that we consider our grands!

Now on to the Wammyville Group!

Allyson opened the doors to Wammyville way back in 2008.  Aly is a junior, Madison is moving right on into 5th grade and
Carter will be a sophomore!
Their mom was Michael's 4-year-old preschool teacher.
This is one very active, sports-minded bunch of energy.

Marli has been around for a while too.  I've known her parents since her dad was in high school.  I remember the day he introduced us to Kelli, her mom when they were dating.  Kelli was Michae'ls Assistant Principal at the junior high.  Marlie is a sophomore going in a direction she loves, creative and performing arts.

Rori Belle is Marlie's younger sister.  This girl is a hoot!  She will be living the dream in 6th grade.  She is into all sports and is always up for a good time.  She is willing to give me a huge 'I don't want to let go' hug.

Can you believe that this beauty is in 8th grade? I honestly can't tell you how old Carly Rae was when she first came to Wammyville.  She has always been cute but she is growing into a real beauty.  She loves basketball! And Taylor Swift!  She is a real social butterfly. Last year she helped out with Whiz Kids on Wednesday nights.

Connor has always been 110%
ACTIVE boy.  Carly Rae claims him as her little brother most of the time. He came to Wammyville Preschool and I am his tutor at Whiz Kids at Eastside every Wed night during school.  He is taking second grade by storm!  There are several Connor stories but my all-time favorite is when our firefighter, Jon Milligan, came to talk to the yahoos about fire safety! IYKYK  He is the most loving, gracious treasure hunter in our village.

Ellie is such a young lady.  And so artistic.  As her sign says she is off to bloom in 6th grade.  She is such a timid one.  Always positive and loves to help clean out and help set up my preschool classroom.  Sometime during the year, I might have to ask where my rulers are because I can't seem to put my fingers on them.  So kind and caring.

Louie is part of the Three Amigos.  I think he might be the tallest 2nd grader I know.  He has always been into fashion and the latest hair craze.  He loves being outside and so he is definitely one of my people.  His teacher has a gem and she may not even know it yet but it won't take her long to figure that out.

I first met Asher when his sisters came to Nature Camp offered by the township.  He was in a stroller if my memory serves me right.
He was a big hit at preschool.  Everyone looked forward to Asher coming through the door...another amigo.  We were sad when they moved to KY but we still keep in touch.  His family tries to make as many Wammyville Campouts as possible.  I'm sure his teachers in 2nd grade will love having this gentle little soul in class.

And when you talk about a cool dude just look up this one.  It will be different this year.  It seems a little strange not having a house full of yahoos.  Levi comes at the end of the day with his mom.  They go to the same school.  He is the big brother to Avery who hasn't had his first day of Preschool yet this year.  He is 1/3 of the Three Amigos.  Levi is full of jokes...which he shares daily!

It is not possible that Adi is in 3rd grade already.  She flies under the radar most of the time.  She was just a little Yahoo in diapers just last week it seems.  I think she is upside-down most of the time I see her.  She loves a good headstand or cartwheel.  She is such a great helper when she has days off from school.  She is a great assistant teacher.  The only downside...she refuses to change diapers.  I am positive she will breeze through 3rd grade.

As you can see, Jase is also in the cool hair club!  He loves a good spike!  He is very competitive in all things.  He loves to snuggle and read a good book.  He might not tell you straight out but he loves school.  I almost forgot that Jase is the third member of the Three Amigos.  They are literally like brothers.  They pick right up where they left off when they see each other.

This is Cooper!  This gentle giant of Wammyville who is a junior in high school!  He lives right up the street and texts all the time to see if the kids are here and if he can come down and play.  Sometimes he brings his band instrument and plays for them.  He is great with them. And they love it when he visits.  He got his license a few weeks ago and was sure to let me know.

Delaney also lives up the street because she is Cooper's sister.  She is the definite princess of Eagle Ridge.  It is amazing to me that she is already in the 8th grade.  She is usually the Uber food delivery 'driver' from their house.  She usually rides her scooter down with bags of goodies in her hands.  I don't know how she does it without wrecking.  She and Marli were in a play together recently which was so fun.

This is Gabriel...not Gabe anymore.  Now that he has moved on he wants to be called Gabriel.  He was excited and a little anxious about going to kindergarten, as were probably lots of kinders.  He keeps me on my toes!  And then some!  I love going to the bus each day and seeing him smile when he climbs down the stairs.  He has talked about being a police officer for some time now. But he is going to have a police motorcycle.

Ava's summer has lasted longer than anyone else's.  Her first day was today the 22 of August.  She and Adi call themselves sisters because they started out at the same sitter when they were just weeks or months old.  She is a great helper when it comes to keeping the littles in line.  And Pappy loves it because before she and Adi go home each night they feed the dogs.  And they LOVE their job!  And the dogs love them.

If you are wondering where the Preschool's first-day pics are...we don't start until Sept 3. So be on the lookout for them soon on another blog post.
