A Day In The Rain

 The day started early.  6;30 AM for me.  I have noticed if there is anything that looks like it might be light, my eyes pop open and I am ready for the day.

I went around the perimeter of the property and picked blackberries.

There were so many that were just out of reach so Pappy rigged us up a harness.

This is what the pass back to the plastic bag looked like.  Just inches in front of me was a ten thousand foot drop of death.  Tomorrow morning I am going to walk down the road to see if I can find any more.

One last fern.

And she is at it again.  We are on our way down.

Pappy found an old farm along the road that is for sale.  I even heard him leave a message with the agent.  This should be good.

We drove back to the NOC and saw something that we were hoping to see yesterday.

While we all were shopping in the Outdoor Store at the NOC, Pappy was talking to the locals like he always does to find out some fun things to do and some good places to eat.  We ended up here and I am so glad that we did!!

OH MY!  This is what we went for... a Dreamy Whip.  Mine was strawberry with strawberries.

 

There was mango with peaches.  Strawberry with strawberries and, Mango with peaches again.  SOOOOOO good!

Then we were off in search of waterfalls.

Mingo Falls is on a Cherokee Indian Reservation just outside Great Smokey Mountain National Park (GSMNP)

.5 mile hike, 165 steps to the bottom of the falls.  We saw no blue butterflies.

But I did manage to get a pic of a blooming rhododendron.

We just pulled into this parking lot because it looked like it would be good.

And yes it was!  Really good!

On the way back up the hollow that lead to our cabin, we found a few more waterfalls.

Finally the clouds (or smoke) moved out just enough that we could see the sunset.

Cassie spotted it first.  And was it beautiful!

This is a fun new game for me.  Full of action.  I have no idea where they found it.
