Big Day For The Ellis Household
Today Michael turned 18!
That is so strange to think about. We weren't there for his birth. He came to live with us when he was five days old. That is what we call his Got 'Cha Day. So I guess that is when he was born to us. I do remember that day like it was yesterday. We got a call for Dan our caseworker and said that he was bringing Michael to us. He came with the clothes on his back and a crochet blanket that we still have stored away for Michael when he wants and if he wants it. He had the longest, fullest head of hair. And beautiful long black eyelashes. He may not have our DNA but he has and always will have our hearts. We love him to the ends of the earth and more. Life would sure be boring without him. There is never a dull moment. His sense of humor is crazy but you have to listen real close to hear it. He has a huge compassionate heart and cares deeply about things that most kids his age could care less about. He is quiet while he takes everything in. He listens when you don't think he is. He is amazing in so many ways. We couldn't do life without him.
So happy 18th Michael. Hope the next year brings you joy, peace, happiness and everything thing you have dreamed of.
We love you!
