Backpack Packing

Today is a big day at Eastside.  It is the Backpack Give-Away Day!  We got to church at 8:30 and there was already a line.  GiveWawy was scheduled for 10am originally.  Then somehow 9AM showed up on the Website.  These people have been standing for a while already.  Julie assured the that there were enough backpacks to go around.

 

I believe the last count was 465 backpacks filled to the brim with school supplies and one painted rock from each.  Thank you to the rock painters...some we don't even know.  They heard about what we were doing and donated rocks they had.  That is awesome!  Ripple effect!

And then the rains came.  There were games, free hot dogs, more games, popcorn, face painting...fun for all the kids for sure!
