Lunch, Blenko, and Memory Lane

My dad has been raving about the baked steak here for awhile.  So we decided to go on Sunday because nothing taste good to him and he just knew the baked steak would hit the spot.

It is just in a little strip mall that they are refurbishing on the way to town.

We walk in and it looks like my mom decorated the place.  Antiques and Primitives and lots and lots of country things.

See on the arm of the bench holding all the Raggedy Ann's...could that be a Milford Rock?

Kim's lunch

My lunch.

The warm homemade rolls.

And my lunch after Kim and I divided our lunches to share with each other.  And yes I managed to eat it all.  It was so good that my dad ordered a second dinner to take home...to eat and to show the chef at Wyngate.  Aunt Judy and my dad had dessert...homemade cherry pie...and hey brought us home a piece because we had just enough time to make it to Blenko.

I love Blenko, especially anything in cobalt blue!  I have never been here and have always wanted to go.

We were the only people in the store.

I am just a little excited.

The garden was beautiful.  The glass pieces were amazing.

And of course, this was my favorite.  Can you imagine having just this section in my backyard?

Blenko glass in a flower bed?  I'm not sure I could do that.

A bottle tree.

There was a top hat on top.

I can remember a time when my sister and I got a duck for Easter.  Once they got their white feathers they got to go live int he Blenko pond.

Then we made a quick trip down memory lane.  This was my Aunt Dory and Uncle Jim's house.  I remember a stop sign on the corner and a big tree.  It had no fence then and a backyard that went on forever.  Santa came to see all of us there one Christmas.

This is my Aunt Judy's house.  I love all of her sitting places.  They are so nice and peaceful.  And her flowers are gorgeous.

My cousin Kim has a green thumb for sure.  my cousin Sherry, Kim's sister made the plate flower.  Kim is lucky that it didn't find it's way back to my house.

Aunt Judy's front porch.  I found out her secret for such lush ferns...nope not telling.

Look who got to drive home...on the Interstate...angles on every bumper and then some.

Jan, it was great making the trip down Memory Lane with you. I went with my parents to Blenko when I was a little kid, even before we moved to North Queens Ct. In those days, there were SWANS in the pond! Please tell your dad it's always good to see him. ❤️
