Many Hands Make Light Work
Headed down the road to Indiana as soon as the yahoos all got picked up on Friday. Trevor likes us to come because he knows we will help get projects finished. I think Cassie likes us to come so we can help and give our two cents worth of knowledge. Ellis lkes us to come and watch him play soccer. I know that Alaire just likes us to come so she has more ammunition to make fun of Wammy. Maddie just wants Ella to play.
Trevor and Cassie had a vision. Some nice raised beds surrounded by pea gravel and having a fire pit on one end.
Landscaping fabric goes down first.
Mark made these strawberry beds last year for her.
How do you get 4 truck loads of pea gravel to the back yard? Well, you just drive it up silly.
Alaire helping to plant 5,000 (well, it seemed like there were that many)
Trevor really should not be doing this. We just couldn't keep a shovel out of his hands.
This is Alaire before her tumble.
Ellis doing his part.
This is Alaire after her tumble out of the truck bed very gracefully and gymnastically into the truck's wheel well. Yes, she came up a little bloody.
Michael was in charge of fixing the strawberry beds.
Trevor putting down the barrier.
It is almost finished.
I planted about 12 plants in and then Cassie got more. As soon as she finished planting don't you know that Maddie ran right through it.
Two raise vegetable beds complete. One fire pit ready for the first campfire.
I bet the peas and cucumbers will be up in no time.
A few herbs.
Trevor moved the little burning bush out from the house so it will have enough room to grow into a big burning bush.
And last but certainly not least....Peep's bell has a new home!
I'm glad that we got lots accomplished but this 60 year old body is definitely telling me that I am not 30 anymore. I think I might just go to sleep in the hot tub. All in all and when all is said and done...we all make a pretty good team. If only we had our chef Emmy with us. Probably next trip!
