A Family Gathers

Right after Trick or Treat we headed for WV to meet Mark because Katherine wasn't doing well.  Thank heavens we did for if we had waited to go Saturday we would not have made it in time.  The week was long and filled with a million and one things that had to get done.  Thank heavens friends and family were there to help.

Mark wanted to make a few (four) story boards filled with pictures.  It took us all the entire evening just to go through all the snapshots that were in all of Mamaw's photo albums.  That was fun because we got to relive some fun times.  And we were all together doing it.  All 21 of us finally made it.  A house full for sure!  Here are some of our favorites.

A trip to Charlottesville, VA for Cassie's baby shower.

Sarah with Mamaw when she was about 6 years old.

It took me hours to find this one.  Keith wanted this one on the board for sure.  It was in a scrapbook that Jackie had made her.

Friday night football games.  It would be too cold so Keith would get as close to the field as he could with the car so she could watch the game.

Keith and Katherine with their good friends, Jackie (Toot Toot) and Larry.

This is one of everyone's favorites...taken at a Sunday School Class party.

Breakfast with Bob...can't for the life of me remember which day it was...everything is such a blur.

Mamaw loved jewelry.  She had tons of it!  Everyone got to go through it and pick out the pieces that meant something to them.  And then Alaire was more than thrilled with Papaw gave her the rest of it to take home.

Headed to the visitation.  We couldn't find the front door key.  Mark found a random key and thank heavens, it was the right one.

Some yummy dump cake for a late night snack.

I think Papaw might have been standing on his toes to make himself taller.

Alaire writing a note and drawing a picture.

And then came the time when Papaw wanted to divide up the Bunnykins.  There is a story behind each Bunnykin.  Each year Mark and Terry would get her one for Easter.  It most always had a reason it was chosen.  It was like the draft.  Everyone got a turn after Mark and Terry chose their favorites.  There was some wheeling and dealing going on!  Papaw wanted each of the grandkids and great grandkids to have some.

We thank all our friends and family that sent cards, flowers, food and just kept us in their prayers.
