A Short Visit With Family
Today was more driving in the mountains. I learned a valuable lesson...there are no short cuts or quick was to get from point A to point B when you live in the mountains around NC. It takes time and patience...and a good set of nerves!
Come to find out that my Aunt and cousin live about 30 minutes outside of Franklin in Sylva. So before we jump back in the van for a day of driving and sight seeing we really needed to soak Michael's feet and shoes in vinegar. I read on Pinterest that it would deodorize them. All's fine until you are stuck in the van that smells like a dill pickle factory! Good thing Sylva wasn't too far over the mountain.

My Aunt's house in Sylva.
Her guest house.
Her pond complete with fish and a waterfall that sounds heavenly.
And she has a barn. A real barn.
We traveled to Dillsboro for dinner at Kostas.
Michael's favorites...pasta, bread and chicken.
chicken Philly
a chicken sandwich with no bun
huge baked potato and Kostas chicken
open faced roast beef
And you know we had desserts. We ended up ordering them to go...breakfast the next day...we are on vacation, why not!
