Ladies Weekend in WV

I got to spend some time with dear 'old' friends this weekend .  And I made a few new ones.
ROAD TRIP TO WV

We did A LOT of eating.

We had a nice cabin at the Oglebay Resort and Conference Center in Wheeling, WV.  Oh, how good those WV mountains looked and smelled.  Betsy chilling out before one of our many meals in Wilson Lodge.

I got to sit across the table from Doug Jude and his family.  Doug and I go way to Youth Group days at Mt Washington Baptist Church...23 years maybe...

Oh my what a wonderful place!  They glass from Blenko which is a glass factory in Milton, WV...about 20 minutes up the road from our old stomping grounds.

And I have been looking for this water pitcher for along time.  So it just had to come home with me.

And look at this guy!  Love him.  Thinking if I could learn how to make this little jewels, I could make them for all my friends.

He can be a recipe holder guy.

Or maybe a picture holder.

Love the yellow buildings.

Louann and Cindy taking a break.

Simply beautiful.

Just had to do it.  He was sitting so nicely in the sun.

In honor of those the Boston Marathon 2013

We got a couple of ideas from the garden center.

There was a bed of yellow roses and this is the only red and yellow combo in the bunch.  We are wondering how this could happen.

Betsy and I took al little hike around the golf course.  A little breather on the bench on hole #9.

They have a  Festival of Lights and some of the lights haven't been taken down yet.

Yea, we got to see a bluebird!

Our second cabin.  The first one was surrounded by men that had just finished a golf tournament and they were partying pretty  hard.  And there were a lot of them.  So Louann called the front desk and they very graciously moved us to a more remote cabin.

Ruby taking in some sunshine.

We all were reading A Thousand Gifts by AnnVoskamp.  We were going to watch the DVD that goes along with it but we didn't have a DVD player.  So we are all going to share the DVD.

Getting ready to meet Doug and his family for dinner at the Wilson Lodge.

Betsy just happened to noticed out her window.  It looked like a rainbow in a cloud.  Like a prism.

This was a great a great weekend. Lots of fun. Lots of good food. Deep discussions. Hilarious stories and loud belly laughter.  Great to catch up with friends.  Plans for next year are in the works already.
