HUGE STORM

They said we were going to have a storm. One minutes it is hotter than blue blazes and the next thing I know the sky and everything that you could see looked the color of a bad bruise beginning to heal (greenish yellow).  The boys made it to the front door just about the time the rain started coming down and the wind started blowing (70 mph winds).  As I was closing the front door we heard a big crack.  I barley opened the door to look out  and saw that my neighbor on the right had lost a limb.

Little did I know that the neighbor on the other side had two limbs fall...one smack in the middle of the top of his new van and one right beside the van.  Luke and I sat in chairs in the garage and watched Mr. John try to cover the hole left in his sunroof.  The pic is not very clear because it is POURING, booming, shake the house thunder and lightening that I thought was going to come in the garage after us!

Only thing we lost was a birdfeeder that I am sure we will find in the hosta.  

Just after the storm was over we lost power...us and 43,000 others in the county.

So what do you do when you have no electric?....Well, Ms Renee takes you to lunch and then you play in the street like there are no rules.  You know like the ones your mother gives you when you go out to play with your friends...wear your shoes when you are on your bike...and don't forget your helmet...no riding wagons down neighbors driveways....stay on the side of the street when you ride you bike (not in the middle)...breaking all the rules at the neighborhood block party.

And of course there is a good game of what we refer to as Water Limbo...which is actually Mark  drowning you with the garden hose at full force...

Even when you find out that there is $10,000 damage to your new van and you haven't even made the claim on the damage to your house...you still have the heart to play!

But all good fun has to come to an end...especially if you ride your bike into the creek and tumble in slow motion over the rocks and into the creek that is really sewer water...gross!  Can you say trauma drama?

But we thank the Duke Energy workers for all their hard work.  We were only without electric for 9 hours.
