We Never Miss It

A good parade in Old Milford would be hard for us to miss.  This was the first year that Mark was not with us.  But Michael and I made it in time to see and hear the Town Crier, who begins every parade getting people on their feet and clapping for America.  You gotta love small town America.  And then everybody and their brother follows...almost all giving out candy.  As you walk down the sidewalk looking for just that right spot to park your chair (lots of  people put there chairs out earlier, like the night before) a parade volunteer gives each kid a bag for their candy.  I noticed this year Michael was a little hesitant about getting candy.  Maybe he is growing out of the parade era of his life.  I hope not because I love going to the parade...best place to people watch in the whole world.

Our neighbor has put a lot of playing in this week with two parades back to back!

The smallest twirler in the parade.

I love this.  I think these ladies dresses in their 50's poodle skirts ( it is the parades 50th anniversary) handing out candy.  Priceless!  They would just smile and wave and then be attacked by the kids who were supposed to stay back on the corner.

Hey Ellis...do you think this guy cold take on Grave Digger?

This is Tom, our real estate guy.

And Dick Schipp, a friend from church.

I love the Shriner Clowns.

Still after all these years haven't figured out what the Goshen Horse-Thief Detectives do.

We have a plan for next year that involves a neon net with a long handle....
