A Fun Time For Sure

Another Napier wedding in the works!  But first we have to take care of the 'important things'.  Emmy and I had a little road trip up I 71 yesterday to the other side of Columbus to the Convention Center at North Pointe.  What a beautiful place!  I loved the buildings and the brick streets. And the gardens were in full fall color. (The invitation looks a lot like Sharon)

The room could not have been more spectacular.  I thought we were already at the reception. Red was everywhere!

I think Sharon posed for the cake topper.

The table decorations were simply stated with red flowers.  very nice

We were able to sit with Aunt Katee (Jeremy's Mom), Christine, Casey, the bride-to-be, Sharon's Mom and Godmother.  We were a fun table!  And they were so gracious and made us feel like part of the group.

There were lovely gifts...some put us over the edge and some made us cry just a bit.  My face hurt from  smiling and my stomach hurt from laughing.

We played some fun games.  Emmy won this one.  Inside the cake slices (groom's cake boxes) were some little gifts for us all and if you were one of the lucky three a diamond ring...you won a prize.  Not real...  I won a game of hide and seek.  Hidden all around the room were diamond rings.  The person with the most won.  And that would be me.  I will not mention any names but some people were caught pushing and shoving...some of the decorations were toppled over....by a pregnant woman no less.  Shameless!

I told you red was everywhere.  We each got a box that we could fill with candy and hand sanitizer at the end of the shower as our thank you gift.  This came in real handy for the ride back home.

Sharon with some of the specials mothers in her life.

Sharon with her Mom.  Both of them seems so calm with a wedding just around the corner with Sharon being in TX in school and everything taking place in OH.

This is Sharon's 92 year old great grandmother.  So sweet and we loved her fashionable red hat!

This dance was very moving.  This young lady was named after Sharon.  I am thinking she is Sharon's godmother's daughter.

I have never seen so many cameras!  You almost had to 'fight' for a position.  Not really...everyone was very orderly and nice about waiting and taking turns.

And then it was time for gifts.  Several family members and friends gave special gifts of their talents...this sweet little grandmother read a very touching poem.

Some wrote and sang special songs...

And then came the gifts...some I will show and some you will just have to use your imagination as to what was in some of the bags.

'thong hats' were very popular

If I remember this it was a very scary bag and some of the things were for Sharon's eyes only.  I think she was just a tab embarrassed.

This was cute...a close line of panties...panties thru the ages of Sharon's life...they started out with little skimpy things for the honeymoon...to pink fringed ones for when you need a little pick me up in the marriage to granny panties when all is said and done.  Really cute idea!  I know the girl has at lease one pair of panties for every day of the first year of their marriage.  She is going to have to get an extra dresser just to store all the pretty little dedicates in.

The last gift was given to her by her Mom.  It is one of her grandmother's ruby rings.  Her grandmother passed not long ago.  A very special and tender moment.  Had me in tears.

And then there was the goody box that we got to fill to take home.  We had such a good time and everything was just so perfect we can hardly wait for the wedding next month.  We pray that all the details fall right into place and everyone is able to make the trip back to Columbus.  Can't wait to see all of my new friends all dresses up and ready to party.
