SOOCSunday...geese
Today marks two in a row for me for Straight Out Of the Camera Sundays! Yea. I love doing these photo challenges but over the winter I have sorta dropped off from the Round Robin Challenge, the Monday Morning Photo Shoot and God's Abundant Gifts but this week I am turning over a new leaf...keep your fingers crossed that I can keep it up. With the weather about to change I hope to add just a tad bit more color to the pages of this blog. Winter blahs are going away...YEA.
So back to SOOCSunday. The deal is that we can post any of our own shots that have not been tweaked other than cropping. I like that because I haven't really learned how to do anything else to them...well, maybe straighten the image. So, here's my shot.
Last week Cassie and I took the kids out to lunch at a park near our house. The sun was out, very little wind, squishy mud, little puddles of water all around...a great day for this weather we have been having. After lunch we took a short walk around the lake. I love Canada geese, always have. But they tend to be just a little messy. Where ever we would walk they would follow. The kids threw left over peas to them. You should have seen it, me holding the backs of little pants so as to not let them fall int the water and then trying to hold the camera for some pictures. Craziness for sure. Canada geese are my all time favorite bird. I love to hear them honk. I think they are beautiful and smart. When we lived in WI were were in a flyway and hundreds would fly over the house. Every time I would hear them, I would go outside on the deck and try to find them. They are so graceful. So I couldn't pass up this pair. You know that they mate for life. And during the incubation period the adults loose their flight feathers and can not fly until the eggs hatch in25-28 days. Just a little nature trivia for ya.
I am certain there will be more people entering the challenge...click here to check them out. Thanks my California friend for getting me back to something fun.
