EMPS #28 Black and White

Carly never ceases to amaze me. She is always pushing me to do and learn new things when it comes to photographyand using my computer . This challenge is one that has me back in my camera's instruction booklet. Our challenge...take a shot of something in black and white. This is a first for me. I have never taken a black and white picture. I don't even know if my camera has a setting for that. I did venture over to Picasa to see if I could change one of my color shots to black and white...never done that before either. I guess I am going to have to figure out how to do this too. I really like the idea of black and white...just don't understand it yet.

I know that most of the other people that participate in EMPS really know what they are doing. And I am looking forward to seeing what they can do in black and white. Click here and you can see too.

Hi Wammy

Hon, you are a much better photographer then you give yourself credit for. This is a lovely photograph, and I can feel the color in my imagination. Orange pumpkins, dark green leaves on the trees, maybe a few colored ones mixed in, all barns are red to me, lol, even when they are white, and the deep brown of the fence, and yet in B/W there is a comfortable peacefulness that makes me feel at home. Yes, home. That's the feeling. It's like the whole scene is about simple comfort. Nicely done. You get better and better all the time.

Always, Carly

I like the way the shaft of sunlight crosses the front of the barn and leads the eye to the pumkins and the fence completes the triangle. My attention was truly captured.
