Before and After

I always have good intentions of taking lots of pictures of things in the beginning...to show the progress...except I kinda get caught up in the work and forget.Yesterday morning we meet Emmy, Casie and Seth at the house. We are starting the wedding prep. Casie and Seth are getting married in August and the outside of the house needed a spruce up. So they call in the master's of yard work...along with every garden tool and empliment that we can shove in the van. It was cold...around 30 degrees when we started but the day warmed up and turned out to be beautiful. We...

tilled dirt
edged flower beds and around the patio
pulled weeds
chased Riley
took out bricks
transplanted flowers
fixed the hose reel
made a hosta bed
checked on Michael
planted grass seed
spread straw
fretted over a possible rabid possum
staged the front porch
rummaged thru the garage for treasures
swept the sidewalk
talked to the neighbors
used the blower
dumped yard waste
put down ground cloth
covered ground cloth with mulch
fixed the downspouts with water diverters
planted pansies
rearranged patio furniture

All of this in about 4 hours. I have a huge blister between my big toe and the next toe. Emmy is sore all over. Casie is still planting flowers. Seth is cleaning up after a great lunch he cooked. Michael's belly hurts...he ate almost an entire box of Buskin cookies. Abbie is probably writing down all the great recipes from the Greek seven layer dip and awesome cupcakes she brought to lunch. And Mark is ready to get started on taking out a rock wall we found under an old bush we took out a few days ago.
