Snow Day Central
It has been a crazy two days. Monday it was cold as usual, around 20 degrees F. Mark was off so he worked on his resume all day long...I literally mean all day long, Sarah and Michael got to sleep in Monday morning...1 hour delay...YEA...Allyson is sick with a double ear infection and broccolitis...BOO...and I worked on a grocery list complete with Internet couponsand got enough to stock the shelves and weather the storm. Michael comes running off the bus with a grin as big as can be...."Mom, Mrs. McCarthy says that tonight we have to turn our pajamas wrong side out and backwards and flush something down the toilet for a Snow Day tomorrow." I'm good with that! But I thought it might be wise to have a discussion about the flushing things down the toilet. Michael decided that ice cubes would be a good thing and I have to say that I was relieved. And then there is the whole snow dance thing...(remember to go to the bottom and mute the lovely music so you can hear all the explanations about the snow dance)Our house phone and my cell phone rang this morning at 6AM...C-Notify...they have called a SNOW DAY! Yippee! So that dance does work! I couldn't stand it and I had to let the dog out. When I opened the garage door I saw and heard John shoveling a path for Renee to get to work. I ran right upstairs and told Mark that he needed to rev up the snow blower and hit the neighborhood. And this was all before the sun came up. I loved it! So beautiful and so peaceful. That was until the men got the blower out. It started up with one pull...amazing. When it was all said and done...five driveways cleared slick as a whistle. Luke was out early helping move snow from one side of the driveway to the other. He even climbed up in the bed of the truck and made a snow angel. Mark let John borrow the the blower for his driveway. Then it shifted to our driveway. While I was cleaning up the edges of the driveway (I know, OCD) I noticed Lynn shoveling their driveway. So I sent Mark down to help her finish up their driveway. On the way back down the street Mark stopped at Kay and Bill's house and did a couple of runs up and down their driveway. Bill works until the wee hours in the morning so Mark didn't want to wake him up. Once all the snow business was taken care of I decided to take a quick walk around the yard and take some pictures. Here is what I found.
snow on the fence
snow line on the house
rooftop snow
oh,to be warm again
snowy birdhouse
thru the pergola
spoonfulls of snow
snow seat
snow on the green chairs
