Geocaching at Five Mile Chapel

Emmy, Nate, Michael, Luke and I went Geocaching today at Five Mile Chapel. This is the most beautiful place tucked back across a small creek. Emmy and Nate have been there before but didn't have any luck. They call in the B Team to help today. But before we could begin the hunting, Nate gave us a little bit of history and how his family has a hand in the chapel. Seems that his grandmother one day way back when, found the chapel in disarray and got some of her girlfriends together and they refurbished the chapel. Ever since then there has always been a Bissenger on the board. It is quite impressive with the awesome stained glass windows, dark wooden pews, three old, old organs. These pictures definitely don't do it justice. The outside there is an old cemetery with grave stones from the Civil War. Some of the stones are broken and the lettering had been worn off. There were American flags placed on some of them. Services are still held there. After searching for about an hour we decide to go creekin...that is we waded up and down the creek. Michael was in his element. He loves rivers and creeks...anything with moving water. At one point there was no where for me to keep my feet dry. Emmy gave me a piggie-back ride...which ended up on a bad note. I guess I was getting heavy and she was trying to put me on a rock..somehow I ended up eating her ear and I think she is going to lose a toenail. We missed that photo opt oh darn.

One other note...Emmy wants to be married in this little chapel. It would be beautiful. She only has one concern...the only bathroom in a one hole outhouse.
