84 Years Young

Friday was Papaw's birthday. We surprised him by showing up on his front door stoop. I think he was surprised. Since we got there so late we didn't have any time for a real celebration. And because of the Walk on Saturday morning early...he had to wait until Sunday after church for a little grill out party. I'm not sure what they are planning but by the grins on their faces it can't be good. The burgers were awesome! I think Mark must have been giving Tyler some tips on something...don't know that I want to know what it was.
Katelyn walked over from her house with a friend from her Bible Study. And she was asked (by Emmy) to bring some of her famous cookies. She made some chocolate chip and some oatmeal raisin. Emmy didn't get not one cookie. I guess next time we are going to have to ration the cookies.
Peep and Stitch walked down the hill for the party. We sat on the back deck and just enjoyed the sunshine. Stitch kept wanting to go in the front yard to see what all the kids were doing. She didn't have any time for all the old people on the deck.
Tyler invited Adam Black to lunch. I haven't seen Adam since he was about 4 years old. Amazing...he's a college graduate now...a real smart cookie too. I am almost positive it was all that he learned in preschool...right Adam?
As always Papaw and I are into something. This trip was no exception. Seems they are cleaning out the house next door, trying to get it ready to sell. They have a very large blue dumpster in the driveway. What is a girl to...go dumpster diving for sure. The only treasure that we could find was an old hoe. Looks great in the garden to me.
How d you like my new bird bath? Papaw traded me a bird bath for an old CD player we had in the basement. I think we both won on this one. He loves his music and we caught him singing while laying in bed a few times. I love my bird bath...just what I was looking for. Everybody won!

Read on, the best adventure is yet to come!

Dumpster diving. I love it. Glad to see you have not changed one bit. Love the flower pictures. They still make me jealous though. I was digging in the dirt tonight getting my patch ready for my garden. Don't know how successful it will be but, I will let you know.

Dumpster diving, is that a twis ton the garbage picking we used to do? Serandipity was open yesterday. I wlaked through there looking at all the stuff, and thinking of the trips you used to make and the treasures you'd find there.
