Leaders of Distinction...Last Full Day
As always a big breakfast buffet was prepared for us...I'm going to miss that big time. We attended a Listen and Learn Session and then off to find a new place for lunch. WE ended up in the Red, White and Blue Cafe in the hotel. Hamburgers...gearing up for the trip back to reality....no more sushi, steak, shrimp...were big and delicious. We didn't have anything planned for the rest of the afternoon so we took Renee's $20.00 and played the slots. At one point we were up $4.75 but I lost it all. Sorry Renee! One of the guys in the group won $600. He was giving us pointers on what machines we should play. Did you know that they have penny slots?
After taking yet another nap and long soak in the tub we had to get dressed for the big dinner and Awards Ceremony. This is a big deal! Cocktails before.
We are always encouraged to have a photo taken...something I dread. But this year I think it turned out pretty good. The room was decorated in all black and red with long stem red roses as a centerpiece on each table. Each manager and significant other was called to the stage and the employees were given an award and the significant others were given an envelope with little spending money. That was a surprise...no workshop have I even been given any money.
We had a great time and it would not have happened if Nana Kelly hadn't gotten us buddy passes for Cassie and the kids. Cassie was the Mom To Many for the days we were gone. Emmy helped ramrod the troops, Miss Renee made sure that Sarah was were she needed to be, Mr. John made sure that everyone got on the bus in the mornings and Ronda and Lynn contributed moral support.
Don't believe what you hear about Circuit City...it may take a little while and some hard work but I believe they will be back to where they once were in a short amount of time. So remember when you are looking for electronics...shop the City.
