Something Is In The Air....

When we lived in WI spring was about end of May beginning of June, because winter lasted from October to May. Everything was windy, cold and brown. Mark and I would go to the library in town and check out gardening books and dream of the days when we would be out making paths, building beds, pulling weeds, removing sod....(you remember those days don't you Yvonne?) Now that we are more down south, if you can call OH south...our minds have turned to "what can we do to improve the yard this year? You see, the people that owned the house before us really didn't take the time to work in the yard. It is a shame because we have heard from neighbors that the man that built the house had beautiful gardens..award winning gardens. We hope...in our 6 year plan of restoration and renovation...to bring it back in all it's glory and then some. So we plan for spring all year long.
I know it is spring because Sarah has started track. She is our shot put athlete. Practices everyday late and early on Saturdays. No rest for the weary. I know it is spring because Michael always has something going on with his asthma, a cold, ear infections, coughing, sneezing, hacking...in bad shape. We can drive to the doctors office blindfolded. I know that spring in in the sir because Mark cleans out the garage and the barn...getting things in order and ready for those long hard work days. I know spring is in the air because I carry my camera in my back pocket to take silly pictures of new things that are coming up so I can report it to all who care. I know it is spring because Pap calls and wants to know if I want any more bulbs or bushes. Spring is definitely in the air...this morning when I took Ella out "the fog was so think you could cut it with a knife" says Michael about 7:30AM...I heard several different birds singing...sounded so good...almost better that the wind chimes. I'm glad spring is finally here!

I to, am ready for spring!! What we are trying to decide is how to get the back yard dry. I don't know about your back yard but I look out and see nothing but standing water. We will be lucky if it is dry by August. How about a pond or a wading pool? I think it needs some professional help. We might have to add the back yard in with the front yard that we plan on having done. Where is the money tree?? Ready for my next blog lesson!!
