They Make Me Smile
I have lots of different responsibilities at preschool...one being the Snack Lady. That's right, Barb trusts me to make out a monthly snack plan and then go buy enough to feed close to 250 children. Many of you know how I am about food...you always buy more than you think you are going to need. Well, in this case, I try to figure out just how much I need with little extra. If you would ask me I think I am doing better that in the beginning of the year when a few of the vegetables and humus needed to be dumped.
We have had apples sprinkled with cinnamon, fresh pears, bananas, broccoli with dip, cheese sticks, Ritz crackers, Club crackers, pretzels...I think my list is pretty impressive...
We serve healthy snack and I am supposed to have a few vegetables and a few fruits during the month. So one day we had some zucchini and Ranch dip. I'd say it was about 60-40 as to liking it. The next day this note showed up in the office. Looks like the zucchini didn't even make the top ten list.
I am still trying to figure out how to take this next note. Is she telling me that the snacks are awesome and she is giving me 12 cents to buy more. Or is she giving me the money in hopes I will buy something more to her liking? Hmmmm...what's a snack lady to do?
