Preschool

Guess you could say that I have never really graduated from preschool. Joy has been wanting to see pictures of the school...so here we go.I tried several times to get a really great picture of the school wing and church but it just wasn't in the picture (no pun intended). This is part of the church. As you can see it is a huge beautiful Virginia plantation type building. If I search way back in my memory, I believe that this is the sanctuary. These are the front doors to the Preschool entrance. See those pretty yellow mums...I planted those one of my first days of employment....there are three other plants that I water daily...you know me, sprucing up the world one yard at a time...thanks Yvonne.

One of my first adventures as the IAA was to buy snacks. Now please remember that I have NOT A SINGLE CLUE about buying snacks for 280 bodies. So each time I got to the store it is on a wing and a prayer. I made Mark go with me to Sam's the first time. I wanted another set of eyes reading those labels looking for anything having to do with nuts. Two hours later this is what we ended up with...After wearing Mark out I had to drop him off at home and then I headed to Kroger for apple juice. I have a new friend at the grocery store...he is the most patient man. His name is Rick. Pray for Rick, that he and I make it thru the year trying to figure this drink thing out. You see no one explained to me that we must purchase frozen concentrate apple juice. When I go to Kroger, I buy plastic bottles of juice. Well, lets just say that it will only take three days to go thru 24 bottles of juice. Rick and I already have a date for Friday night to pick up two cases of concentrate.

Things have sure changed since I was there in 98...seems every hour I learn something new about something old we did "back in the day"...seems I am pretty good entertainment for Barb and some of the other staff members. I love it. I am so nervous that I will do something wrong. It is like I want to fell and knows things like I have been there for the last five years. I want to do my best, not make mistakes and know what to do without asking a million questions...maybe it is a control issue....I can tell you that it could be a great form of dieting for me. Since starting I have, let's just say, been spending lots of time in the bathroom with a rumbling tummy. I know that I am down a few pounds. It is great to be back listening to children laugh and cry all in the same breath. I just hope that I can come close to filling those big shoes Kate has left for me to fill.

I think you're doing a great job tackling something so different. They really need you there.
