Weekend Wrap-Up

We have been crazy busy with tons of fun things to do while Cassie and Ellis are here. It has been awhile since my last post...you ll figure out why when you read on....I have to look back on the calendar to figure out where to begin...I think left off the last post with us taking Cassie to Lexington so when could fly out to MD for her Asbury Girls Reunion. Ellis got to spend six days at our house. I think it was Monday of this week that we drove back to Louisville to pick Cassie up again. If I remember right, Ellis was not too excited about having her back. All he wanted to do was play with Michael on the walking sidewalk and escalator. Ellis still wants to know where Pappy is every morning and hundreds of times during the day. This week Ellis learned how to climb up into our bed. So far no injuries....Thursday it was hot but overcast so we decided to go to the water park. Last year we had fun but there were just too many kids and it was hard to watch the boys. This week, we lucked out big time...there were only a hand full of people there. Cassie, Mark and I were able to sit down on the steps and actually enjoy watching the boys have fun. You could hear them both giggling over top of the water. It was a great way to spend an ugly afternoon. When Cassie and her crew are here we always try to make a trip to WV. This trip was a really short one. We got up Friday morning and got to Huntington just around lunch time. We got to swim Aunt RaRe's...check out the Cannonball video on the right...Also go to Cassie's blog to read more details about our trip. We all got to spend the night with Peep and Stitch. Ellis had a great time with both of them. We ran into a little problem on Saturday morning...Michael or someone or some dog had misplaced his sandal. So bright and early we trudge to Payless to find some shoes. Poor kid, good thing no one in Huntington knows who Micheal's Mom is. Cassie couldn't believe that I would make him go in the store with only one shoe...who cares...no one else was up that early and it wasn't like there was going to be a mad rush at Payless. We ended up with a new pair of tennis shoes...great for the first day of school outfit.Terry, Trevor and Lisa came to Mamaw and Papaw's for dinner. I was able to get the big boys to play a little football with me in the street. Mamaw was worried that we were going to get hit by a car...once again...not a busy street to worry about. These guys look pretty tough to me.

You need to read Cassie's blog to get some of the best stories of our trip...we have a million of them.

Michael doesn't like to have his picture taken at all but I've been in the process of fixing that.....its a work in progress. The last picture is great, he must have felt like he was in disguise.

The water park looked like fun. I would imagine the boys being a year older and listening better might have helped too, besides there being few pople there. Football in the street, ah...brings back memiories. But we never used helmets, just our heads. Now I make sure my guys are helmetted too. Speaking of which, DJ hads a shinny new black one. He broke Hannah's skate board in half. He's working on earning soe cash to buy himself a really nice one that won't break so easily. He has managed to do the half pipe (that was the big bowl at teh park)!!! (Check an old blog from July for more info on DJ and skateboarding)
