Neighborhood Bike Clinic
Yesterday was the best day! We were outside all day, from sun up to sun down. Michael and I were out before 8AM working on riding his little bike. When we took a break I suggested that we take his training wheels off the new bike and see what we could do. He was up for that..you know Luke can do it now and he is in Kindergarten now....so off we went. He was riding from our lot line to the top of the hill past Luke's. Evidently I was cheering a little to loud because Luke came out in his PJ's and wanted to know if he could ride also.
I told him that he would have to ask his babysitter...AKA...Sarah. As you can see, Luke was ready for biking and swimming. Skyler and Michael were ready for a triathlon...they would ride a little, run around the house a few hundred times and then jump in the pool. Luke was just all over the bike...he is our Evil Kenevil...just goes like a little water bug. Skyler is more of a perfectionist. He wants to be able to ride the first time like he has been riding for years. I think he had the most wrecks. Then you have cautious Michael. He doesn't want to wreck so he puts on his brakes all the time...drives me crazy!
These guys remind me of three other boys I had the privilege to watch grow up...Bryce, Jeremy and Mark. It is really scary!
We had a few little mishaps...Skyler's hand breaks locked up and I couldn't fix them...where is Bryce when you need him...but we had enough bikes that he was still able to ride. The most fun part for me was watching the parents watch their kids ride a two-wheeler. The looks of accomplishment on the boys faces compared the the pride (and I must say I think I saw a few little tears) on the parents faces...it made all the aches and pains that I have this morning worth every minutes of the day. So all is well in the neighborhood.
