He's Back...

One day this week, can't remember...all the days in the summer seem to just run right into each other....Michael and I made the early morning trip to the Louisville, KY airport to pick up some precious cargo. Cassie was on her way to an Asbury Girls Reunion Weekend in Baltimore,MD. We got to pick them up and then drive to Lexington, KY to drop Cassie off at TD and Jen's (Trevor's brother and sister-in-law). A little side note...When Cassie was in college she attended Southland Christian Church, where TD and Jen ministered to the college students...Cassie became their babysitter and TD and Jen set Cassie up on a blind date with Trevor...and I guess you could say that the rest is history....Anyway, Michael couldn't wait to see Henry. You see, Henry loves Thomas The Tank Engine just about as much as Michael does. They became fast friends. This trip they decided to work on a really small Leggo board together. Henry has a certain way that he wanted it to go and Michael was trying to follow the directions. With a little help from Jen and some encouragement from me...they finally were able to complete the picture. Ellis wanted so much to help but we figured the small pieces probably weren't the bet choice for him. Look at that sweet little face..just let me touch one guys...please....I think we finally pulled in our driveway at 7:30PM...Michael and Ellis were starving and I was really thirsty. Mark fed the boys some dinner while I got the bath water ready for a quick bath. 8:10PM both boys were sawing logs and I wasn't far behind. Our morning started rather late...8:30AM...wonder how long that will last...we were out int he driveway with all the bikes, tractors, big wheels, a pool of cold water, Leggo's, dogs...you name it we had it out. We lasted about an hour before we had to start eating Popsicles. It was up in the triple digits today...hottest day of the year so far...and we were playing on blacktop. I kept spraying it off with the hose to cool it down. You could feel the stream...so we came in for a little "coolness" as Michael calls it. Little did I know that my grandson loves to watch dancing on TV. And does that child have rhythm...I know for a fact it didn't come from his Mom or Wammy...could be untie Em or aunt Sarah...but he sure can shake a tail feather...Ellis loves helping me with the dogs. Seau is still here on her little vacation and Ella Bella drives Ellis crazy. I have to report that we have not had one paci causality so far this trip. I was fixing dinner and kept hearing Ellis talking to something or someone. I looked around the corner and he was telling Seau some big tale. After dinner and dropping Sarah off at the part for a youth gathering, we came home to cool off in the pool yet another time. Luke filled up a big bucket and sat in it, which Ellis thought was just hilarious...this was the next best thing for him. Another night of baths and off to bed at 8PM...Michael was even asleep by 8:15PM. And now it is Wammy's turn to tuck in...gota get ready for another big day...tomorrow we give both dogs a bath...

Looks like tons of fun and Ellis looks like he never left! I am sure he loves all of his outdoor freedom when he is there b/c I'm with Cassie and don't enjoy spending that much time out there...good thing Wammy does!

Sounds like you're having a great time with him. Right in your element with lots of kids.
