First Official Friend Sleepover

Friday morning bright and early Michael started planning the sleepover with Logan. Our first stop was the grocery store. His grocery list consisted of apple juice, sugar, cinnamon, and chocolate chip cookie dough. You can see where his heart is...Food, and having just the right things for his friend to eat. Then it was home to set up the tent. We were going to have a camp-out but decided to wait until the weather was a little better. The tent in the basement in front of the TV was next best. He got special pillows and special blankets for them to cover up with. We then had to run some errands before picking up Sarah from track practice and then it was a quick trip to Logan's house. Logan was out in the driveway with his suitcase waiting for us. Michael got out one side of the van to help Logan get his stuff in the van. Logan had gotten in the other door of the van and already had his seat belt on before we could get to the front of the van. I think they were both excited beyond words. Dinner was so fun. Our menu was quite varied...spaghetti, chicken, mashed potatoes, green beans, corn-on-the-cob, apple juice, and of course, chocolate chip cookies.. They played with Luke from next door until just about dark. And boys were they dirty stinky little boys. So off to the shower. Now that was fun. They laughed and cackled for 30 minutes. I just laid on the bed and laughed. Finally they were squeakie clean or we ran out of hot water I don't know which. Off for popcorn and a movie...Cars, of course.Things were going great until about midnight. Logan came up and found me on the computer and said that he was scared. A few minutes after that Michael needed some attention. So off we go, me and the boys to the basement. They settled back in the tent and I settled on the couch. I never realized how much Michael talks, laughs and sings in his sleep. Boy, Cassie you are right, he is loud. Logan slept thru it all. Bright and early... 7AM...they were up and ready for monkey bread. I was gathering up my blankets and quilts when Logan asked me if my feet hurt..I guess I was a little stiff looking after sleeping on the couch. Those of you who aren't familiar with monkey bread...it is biscuits, cinnamon, sugar and butter in a bunt pan. It is a staple at our house after sleep-overs. Thirty minutes seems like an eternity when you are hungry. So it is official, our first sleep-over was a success! Now it is time for a nap!

A tent in front of the TV sounds like a great time to me. Your description of picking Logan up was adorable, I could just picture the two of them missing eachother in their eagerness for teh sleep over. And to end it with monkey bread, is there nothing better in life than friends and monkey bread!?!
