Oh, What a Night!

Sarah was praying that even thought she didn't have school T-W-TH-F that the winter dance would still be on. I was really surprised that the dance was held because we were under a winter storm advisory..it was snowing like crazy...Mark had a really hard time getting up the driveway after going to the store on Saturday afternoon. Mark and I worked in the driveway trying to keep up with the snow and then we had to refill the bird feeders...remember we are getting old. We finally gave up on the snow and we waited for the call. The dance was on. That meant that our house was going to be filled with silly teenage girls...again. Sarah's friends showed up in a stages of dress for the dance. Emmy and Sarah worked on her look all afternoon...shopping, hair, make-up..and more. The girls came for dinner. Sarah and I had talked about actually cooking a dinner with a salad, some kind of chicken, a veggie, some bread, and a dessert. But that didn't happen...we ordered pizza. After dinner it was time for picture taking before delivering the girls to the school. What a bunch of funny girls. They took us back to Cassie and Emmy's dances in high school. Having a house full of laughter. We just had to get individual shots of each of the girls...here you go....
This is Becca..AKA Scary Spice. What a riot! This girl doesn't have a shy bone in her body. Those glasses were in almost all of the other pictures too. She knows how to work it. She is friends with one of the other girls. The story goes that she used to go to the high school but she moved away and goes to an all girls school now. Emmy and I decided that she reminded us of one of the girls that went to our church. one
This is one of Sarah's best friends..another Sarah. The first time I met Sarah, she reminded me of the young Leigh Ann Blake. This Sarah is the mother of the group. She is so bubbly and sweet. She made sure that all the girls had their names on their plastic cups so we wouldn't have to wash the glass ones. One draw back..Sarah is a little forgetful. She misplaced her bag but good old Mom found it under a pillow on the couch where she and others had already looked several times.
Now meet Laura. She is the quiet, reserved one of the group. You never really knew that shew as here. I can't remember her even saying two words. But did she know how to work it. Check out her pose. She almost looks like she is in pain or her dress is on fire and she doesn't want anyone to now about it. Laura must have been watching Fashion Week on TV because she wore a headband in her hair. According to the fashion guru's in NY it is the latest fashion trend.
Nikki has to be the funniest girl I know and she is goofy also. She showed up in her dress with green sweats. We were all in the living room when she just decided to take off her pants. Mark just about lost it. She doesn't have a care in the world. I see her future in comedy. When we were taking the individual shots, Nikki was posing all the girls. Need I say more? She seems to be such a free spirit...
I think that Lindi had the best coming-out-of-the-car outfit. She looked warm and reasonable. She also looked like her closet blew lunch on here...seems like she had on some kind of hat, a ski jacket, her blue ruffled, more green sweat pants, colorful socks and beach shoes. Mind you we were in the middle of a winter snow advisory and the snow was already about 4 inches deep.
Last, but definitely not least, our princess, Sarah. She was so excited about this dance. WE worried all week if she was going to get to go or not and then the snow...you can only imagine our predicament. Sarah and Emmy primped all afternoon with hair and make-up (yes, I gave in on this one) When you talk to her I am sure that she will give you every detail and more.
The party's over, monkey bread devoured and everyone has gone back home and I am sure sound asleep under warm covers..I know because that is where Sarah is. Michael is back in his kingdom...the basement and I am going to the laundry room to quilt. We are looking forward to the next dance and a house full of fun!
