Santa's Express

What a cold day it has been. But boy was it fun. Mark has turned into the Jolly Ole Man himself. This morning we all get into the car and have no idea where he is taking us. We drive up the interstate towards Lebanon. The only thing I remember being there is The Golden Lamb...not a place I would consider taking a 15 or 5 year old. We walk the streets of this amazing town...incrediable old buildings filled with antiques decked out with Christmas decorations. We stopped in a coffee shop and got some hot chocolate when Michael hears a train whistle. That was all it took...we were on the hunt for the train.. Little did we know that was why were were in Lebanon...to ride the Santa's North Pole Express. Mind you, Michael won't have anything to do with Santa. We have tried to get him to talk to him but no way...The four passenger cars load up with kids, parents, grandparents...and off we go. After awhile and a few snacks later, we pull to the end of the line at the North Pole. Michael loudly informs all in our car that this is NOT the North Pole. What can you say? We stand in line in 24 degree weather for him to sit on Santa's lap and talk to Mrs. Claus. I am shocked that he did it. And all he wanted for Christmas was an airplane? Where on earth did that come from? So now we are back on the train heading back to the station. There are elves (LLLLL as Michael writes them) making objects out of balloons. We get a reindeer. He lasted about 5 minutes. But that is okay, we got to get on the caboose. A fun day for all but my toes are still thawing out.
