Fall Break In Indiana

Alaire and I celebrated our birthdays together.

Cassie took us to this little hot dog/ice cream stand.

Tailgating in the parking lot.

Working in Cassie's garden planting garlic.

Helping her put her garden to sleep for the winter.  We even weeded her flower beds.  And she shared a huge hosta with me.

We went to a Farmers Market in downtown Lafayette.  We got apples to make Apple Crisp. This is my new favorite fall dessert.  It doesn't have a real name but I call it Pure Goodness.  Cream cheese on the bottom.  Aldi caramel sauce in the tub covered in crushed-up Heath bars.  I added the apples.  OH MY WORD!!!

Sunday morning we joined a few hundred Perdue students at The Chapel. Pappy was so proud of Alaire because she drove his truck.  He told everyone he saw.  She would walk a little faster and shake her head.

Pappy needs a T-shirt with this printed on it.

My 'before' my birthday gifts from the kids...soup!  I can hardly wait for cold days.

Every morning and every evening we took all four dogs on a walk in the fields around the high school.  They loved it.

Bald cypress

Since Cassie worked really hard cooking all of our meals during our time in West Lafayette we decided to take her to lunch today. She chose a little Mom and Pop Greek restaurant...Akropolis.  It was really delicious.

I loved watching the leaves change all along the Interstate.
