Delivering A Special Gift

Way back in July of this year, I hear the sweetest story about one of Cassie's friends, Emily's daughter, Mollie.

The Story...
From Emily

Mollie won Goat Herdsman of the Year out of all the goat showmen at the fair. Apparently, it usually goes to an older 4-H member but whoever makes the decision said they watched Mollie all week. She consistently kept not only her goat watered and fed but watered other people’s goats, too, when she noticed they were without water.

At the beginning of the week Sunny, her goat was lonely and crying, so she asked another family if she could move Sunny next to their pen and by herself scooped all the shavings and moved Sunny all Sunny’s gear to a new pen, so she’d be more comfortable.  Annie and Dave learned about it only after the fact that they realized Sunny was no longer in her assigned pen.

After she won, I asked Mollie what she thought about being the “Goat Herdsman of the Year,” and she whispered to me, “I don’t even know what that means!” 🤣

This is Mollie and Sunny.

I asked Cassie to see if she could get me a picture of Sunny.  This is what she sent me.  I was so touched by Mollie's sweet, compassionate goat (all animals) loving heart I got a wild hair that I would paint her a watercolor of Sunny.  I worked so hard but it never looked like I wanted it to.

So while visiting Cassie I asked Trevor if he could figure out how to help me finish the painting.  I had one painting and then lost it so I had to start over so Trevor used the first painting to show me how to mix up colors and add shadows to the second painting.

My finished product is drying.

Here is the best that I could do.

This afternoon before leaving Cassie's we went by Emily's house to drop off the painting.  I got to love on Sunny and walk around the farm to see the chickens, the big rabbit, and the newest calf, Linda.

Next time I hope to meet Mollie because she seems like such a hoot.  I think we could be best friends!
